Question? 5 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
I need some info on how to use castings. I spred castings around the base of my mature plants just as it is when it comes out of the bed. Is that the correct way or wrong way to use it? I've noticed that some others talk about mixing a foumula of other material and use it that way. I'm not interested in making tea.

That's the same way that I use it. Seems to work well for one of the people I gave some vc to, don't ask.

The way i use the vermicastings is to put a cup full under each seedling i plant in the garden this year we have a very green garden even though early on rain was scarce here in VT. Top dressing works OK but my plants roots grow down how about yours? by top dressing your essentially making tea as the water washes the nutrients into the soil

Well I guess I've been doing it right all along. I use it on mature Blueberries by putting a shovel full on each side of the plant. Just looking for a better way with less labor. I'm 84 years old and can't take much of this heat.
